So I am a first timer. I have a PAN card or PAN allotted. I need to create a tax login account on the portal www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. How do I do it ? I go to the portal, click on register, enter my basic details, PAN number, date of birth and father’s name. On entering correct details, I will be able to set up a tax login with a password. I will need an email id and mobile number to validate and register these. My login is created. I should keep my password safe just like its my bank account access.
Further on, I can login anytime using my PAN and password. If I forget, I regenerate using OTPs at my mobile and email registered with the Tax.
